Midweek Reset – November 23

The Midweek Reset comes out (usually) on Wednesdays, and is full of fun links, recipes, books, and articles to refresh your week. You can find previous Midweek Resets using the search bar, or check out last week’s Reset here.

Hello everyone! It’s been a couple of weeks now since the last Midweek Reset. Since I’m currently on my third day of sitting in bed with some kind of cold/flu situation, it seems like a perfect time for a reset!

I recently bought these boots while away in England to replace my fully destroyed pair, and now wear them daily.

Last week, I joined a course for small business owners to work on our ability to actually sell our products. This is a surprisingly difficult thing for many of us! I have a service-based business that perhaps doesn’t lend itself well to Christmas presents. But one of my colleagues in the course makes these beautiful notebooks. Could be a great gift for someone difficult to buy for on your list. Plus, purchasing from a small business makes the owner do a significant happy dance. So you’re really gifting two people a lovely Christmas.

This article about Ukrainians who have fled to Israel: “Before all this, I didn’t realize I was such a patriot. If I went back, I would probably join the army. I might try to learn how to shoot. It’s not about killing, it’s about protecting one’s own home. Like if I were called to defend this coffee shop in Israel right now, that would be a call to action—to defend, precisely to defend, not to kill. Of course, world peace, I’m for that. I want good to triumph.”

I’m still lusting over the design of the lounge at The Pilgrm Hotel. A full post on our stay at this sweet boutique hotel in London is forthcoming!

The Wailin’ Jennys never go out of style.

If you’re into money info and personal finance, this fun animal quiz might be up your alley. Don’t worry, there’s no wrong answers!.

I haven’t fully embraced the overnight oats craze yet. But this recipe with coffee and vanilla might just change my mind.

For decorating on a budget, these cute and inexpensive print-it-yourself posters would make a lovely addition.

And for one final dose of humor: I went to the local pharmacy here in England earlier this week to get some drugs for my cold/flu. I asked for an equivalent of Tylenol Cold and Sinus/Day and Night, whatever they had. The sweet pharmacy assistant told me the closest thing would be something called “Night Nurse” and “Day Nurse”. I just think is the most hilarious name for a cold and flu medicine. If you have to be in bed for three days, your drugs might as well make you chuckle.

Have a lovely rest of your week.
