The Brighton Palace Pier is surely one of the top tourist destinations in Brighton. The city on the seaside is only an hour from London by train. In the height of summer, one can imagine it would be absolutely packed with families. You could be scrambling onto the roller coaster and bumper cars, slurping on ice creams, and getting sticky with cotton candy. But by November, that’s unlikely to happen!
Our visit to Sidney by the Sea was one of those random flukes that happen while traveling that turn out to be the highlight of the whole trip. We had planned a week on Vancouver Island. I had a week’s worth of vacation to use up at work. After 2 years of COVID, I was going a little stir crazy. Sidney turned out to be the perfect small town for two or three nights – and filled with no fewer than 6 bookshops!
One of the easiest ways to keep your money in your pocket on travel days is to pack your own snacks. Of course, with security restrictions around liquids and gels this can get a bit tricky. And if you’re flying with only carry on, you don’t want a bag full of tupperware containers with no room for socks.
